The South Africa cricket team toured the United Arab Emirates in September and October 2024 to play the Ireland cricket team. [1] [2] The tour consisted of two Twenty20 International (T20I) and three One Day International (ODI) matches. [3] All the matches were played at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
South Africa was a founder member of the International Cricket Council in 1909. However, the South African team did not play official Test cricket from 1970 to 1991, having been suspended from membership by the ICC as a result of controversy over apartheid (most particularly the reaction to the Basil d'Oliveira affair).
