Tipton is an industrial town in the metropolitan borough of Sandwell, in the county of the West Midlands, England.It had a population of 38,777 at the 2011 UK Census. [1] It is located northwest of Birmingham and southeast of Wolverhampton.
Tipton was born on 25 October 1947, in Blackheath, Staffordshire, to Olive and Doug Tipton. He attended Olive Hill Primary School when he was about five years old. His brother, Gary, was a guitar player for a local band called the Atlantics. Early on, Tipton was taught to play the piano by his mother.
The famous Tipton Harriers running team has a strong connection to the Ocker Hill area of the town: the Harrier public house, opened on Powis Avenue in the 1950s, was named in the team's honour. The Walsall Canal passes around the eastern side of Ocker Hill. Ocker Hill is referred to as "Ocker Bonk" in local dialect, the word "bonk" meaning "bank."

The centre of Princes End is situated on the A4037 Dudley - Wednesbury main road. It includes shops, flats and houses. The established residential area of the Tibbington Estate and Ocker Hill area including the Glebefields Estate and Moat Farm Estates "Lost City" are part of Princes End Ward for Voting purposes only but not actually in Princes End itself.
Ian Hill (born 20 January 1952) [1] is an English musician, best known as the bassist and the sole continuous member of the heavy metal band Judas Priest. Along with lead guitarist Glenn Tipton , he is the only member who has appeared on all of the band's studio albums.

Dudley Port is served by West Midlands Railway services between Walsall and Wolverhampton, under a franchise agreement with the Department for Transport.. During Monday–Saturday daytime, there is a train every half hour, which calls at all stations between Wolverhampton and Walsall via Birmingham New Street.
