Lake Villa Community Consolidated School District 41 is a school district based in Lake Villa, Lake County, Illinois.District 41 governs four schools in total: three elementary schools (B. J. Hooper Elementary School, Olive C. Martin Elementary School, and William L. Thompson Elementary School) and one middle school (Peter J. Palombi Middle School). [1]
The first school was completed in September 1958. Built on land from the Howard Bonner farm and redistricted from the Millburn school district to Lake Villa District 41, the school was named B.J. Hooper School after District 41 school board president and prominent Lake Villa citizen B.J. Hooper.
Lakes Community High School opened to 600 freshman and sophomore students on August 23, 2004. Voters approved the bond referendum to construct a second high school for District 117 in 2000. Construction began in 2001 on both the high school and the Antioch-Lake Villa Township Center, which contains offices and meeting space for district operations.
