Aransas County (/ ə ˈ r æ n z ə s / ə-RAN-zəss) [1] is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. It is in South Texas and its county seat is Rockport. [2] As of the 2020 census, the population was 23,830. [3] Aransas County comprises the Rockport, Texas micropolitan statistical area.
Goose Island State Park is a state park in the U.S. state of Texas, located north of the city of Rockport on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. The park covers 321.4 acres (130 ha). It is surrounded by both St. Charles and Aransas Bays. The park was established on land acquired from private owners between the years 1931–35.

Lamar is a small, unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Aransas County, Texas, United States, 10 miles (16 km) north of Rockport and 40 miles (64 km) north of Corpus Christi. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 636. [1] The community was named for Mirabeau B. Lamar, the second president of the Republic of Texas.
