March 2023 and DRM/HD playback is still broken, but the store happily takes money for HD. For a while this seemed to be fixed, I have watched HD movies in 1080p, but the Chrome YouTube app is now unsupported (Linux) again which means DRM is unsupported and streaming is capped at 480p max.
Clearly there are people who love this enough to try to salvage them for Youtube, but as far as releases go: The movies have been Direct to Video (DVD). Unless there is enough demand for them, it's unlikely we're going to get the studio to bother putting them out at a higher resolution, assuming they've even kept a higher quality around.
Yes these are my movies with lossless DTS-HD/TrueHD Atmos. Not sure if there is a list with only DTS-HD. I got DTS-HD to work via soundbar eARC to tv eARC on the native android Plex app but could not get TrueHD atmos to work without a nVidia Shield Pro 2019.
Ah okay. I wasn't sure it would be any different but the linked article indicates it's a temporary measure for a known issue. It also indicates that the issues stem from Google Play movies streamed on YouTube but unless I missed it, it doesn't reference HD content purchased directly on YouTube. Filmplus has a lot of old movies but if your looking for new movies such as movie theater type movies, movies that are not out yet than “BeeTV” is the way I’ve had them for years *but you have to have a jailbroken stick or at-least know how to download to your stick and if you do not, we’ll, there’s tons of YouTube videos that will show you step by step which is exactly how I did it.
