    When you say to bring back the classic Desktop, are you seeing square tiles instead of the normal Desktop?     I am not sure what happened, but all of a sudden my PC (HP Spectre 360) has the Windows 10 "Tile View" when previously I had a desktop view (and start menu) like old windows versions. I cannot for the life of me recall how I got rid of the tiles. I have tried the Windows Icon button and tab, shows my different apps I have up.

    Press Windows +A keys simaltaneously on the keyboard to open the action center. On the lower half, you would see a Tablet mode tile. Click it and you should get the traditional desktop back.

    In Windows 10 the basic opening screen is the desktop. To see your start screen you click on the windows icon on the taskbar. If you are in your browser or a program and want to see the menu(the tiles) just click on the windows icon on the taskbar. See what you want, click on it again and it will take you back to the last opened program or browser.
