Dick's Sporting Goods what are they thinking? First AR's now they quit selling fishing gear in retail stores! Ask an employee if that was just the Wentzville MO store and he said was the whole region. He went on to say well you can order online. I have no reason to go to any of their stores again.
So about a week and a half ago I bought a 7' Field and Stream M XF Spec Tec Casting rod (their worm rod) from Dick's. Don't think down on it, it's one of the best crankbait rods I have ever used and it's only 60 bones. I have their flipping rod too and that is awesome as well. Anyways, back on po...
Don't shop at Dicks much, I buy things time to time but they blatantly UPCHARGE 1-2 bucks for each lure, personally I'd rather just pay the 5 buck shipping cost on TW and get some stuff you can't find in person.
Out here on the desolate plains of central Kansas, Dick's and Gander Mountain are 130 miles away, Cabela's and BPS are 250 miles, so I don't make it to any of them very often. I buy a lot of stuff on-line from Barlow's, Jann's and Cabela;s, the rest comes from Wal-Mart.
I have 9 reels that need fresh line for a big, upcoming tournament, Is this too many reels to take to Dicks or Sports authority to have spooled with their machine?
I have 2 DSG and 2 Walmarts within reasonable driving distance. I buy my lures at Dick's. Mostly when on sale. Walmarts in my area suck when it comes to fishing gear. Sales on said gear are non-existent. Reels I buy online. Have purchased a few rods from Dick's. Got a fantastic deal on a new Mojo (current model).
1. Don't buy any of my spinnerbaits at that particular Dick's Sporting Goods store. 2. Minimize the exposure of those spinnerbaits to sunlight when out fishing I am honestly not really sure that those Strikeking/Dicks co-branded lures are really true Strikeking quality.
choice #1 would be the black/yellow/gold panther martin spinner either 1/8 or 1/4 oz. choice #2 same lure but the yellow/red/silver combo
It's one of the "must-know" techniques. It relies heavily on the mechanics part of the technique. This is great because we can practice even when we're not on the water (winter time). Most of my mechanical techniques were learned as an employee of Dick's Sporting Goods, flipping and pitching down the isles. Learn Every Cast With Both Hands!
I have Dick's Sporting Goods, Boater's World, Walmart, and Sports Authority. Bass Pro and Gander mountain are in reach but over an hour away so I'd like to stay clear of those if possible. Also if someone could let me know brands as far as weights for florida rigs and not just hooks that'd be helpful.
