Snakes and ladders is a board game for two or more players regarded today as a worldwide classic. [1] The game originated in ancient India invented by saint Dnyaneshwar as Moksha Patam , and was brought to the United Kingdom in the 1890s.

Ben Castanie and Aurelia Peynet opened Snakes & Lattes on August 30, 2010 [6] [8] at what later became known as Snakes & Lattes' Annex location. The couple had moved to Toronto from France four years earlier, and came up with the idea for Snakes & Lattes, which they named after the Snakes and Ladders board game, from a visit to a Chicago area game store in 2008.
