Peter Mokaba, OLS [1] (7 January 1959 – 9 June 2002) was a member of the South African parliament, deputy minister in the government of Nelson Mandela and president of the South African governing party's youth wing, the ANC Youth League. [2] The Peter Mokaba Stadium, a Polokwane stadium used for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, was named after him. [3]

The Peter Mokaba Stadium is a football and rugby union stadium in Polokwane (formerly Pietersburg), South Africa, that was used for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.It has a capacity to host 45,500 spectators but for the purposes of the 2010 FIFA World Cup the seating capacity was reduced to 41,733. [2]

Old Peter Mokaba Stadium (previously Pietersburg Stadium) is a multi-purpose stadium in Polokwane (formerly Pietersburg), South Africa. It was the home stadium of Ria Stars football club before they were disbanded. The stadium can host 15,000 spectators and was built in 1976.
Polokwane City FC was established in 2012 although after the owners of Bay United sold the franchise to the Mogaladi family. After playing in various temporary venues, the club was moved officially from Port Elizabeth to Polokwane City.
