Covering business and industry in the state of Alaska, the publication was started in 1976 and was acquired by Morris Communications in 1995. [1] Current owner Binkley Co., owner of the Anchorage Daily News, acquired the Journal in 2018. [2]
] The paper was sold to Charlie Herron in the spring of 1916, and on May 24 changed its name to The Anchorage Daily Times & Cook Inlet Pioneer. [3] On May 29, 1917, it became the Anchorage Daily Times. In December 1924, it was sold to cover debts to a group headed by Bank of Alaska president Edward A. Rasmuson and Jacob B. Gottstein. [4]
