Florencio Sánchez is a small city of the Colonia Department of southwestern Uruguay, on the border with Soriano Department, and is a southern extension of the city Cardona of that department. It is named after the Uruguayan writer and politician Florencio Sánchez and is home to more than 3,700 people.

Nueva Helvecia (Spanish for "New Helvetia"; formerly known as Colonia Suiza) is a city in Colonia Department of Uruguay. It is 120 kilometres (75 mi) west of Montevideo, the capital and largest city of Uruguay, and a few kilometres from the coast where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Río de la Plata .
Colonia Valdense was founded in 1856 (officially as "Valdense"), following the arrival of Italian immigrants from Piedmont, especially from the Waldensian Valleys and the Aosta Valley. The town is named after Pierre Valdo , a French merchant, founder of the religious movement known as " The Waldensians ".
