James Yuille McLean (2 August 1937 – 26 December 2020) was a Scottish football player, manager and director. [1] He managed Dundee United between 1971 and 1993, becoming the longest-serving and most successful manager in the club's history, winning three major honours.
In 1962, Jim McLean wrote the song "The Massacre Of Glencoe", which was published under Duart Music. [53] The song was later adapted and performed by The Corries, [54] as well as adapted for the Highland Bagpipes by various artists. In 1972 the Scottish band Nazareth released the song "1692 (Glencoe Massacre)" on their album, Exercises.
