The Gaspé Peninsula, also known as Gaspesia [2] (French: Gaspésie, ; Mi'kmaq: Gespe'gewa'ki), is a peninsula along the south shore of the St. Lawrence River that extends from the Matapedia Valley in Quebec, Canada, into the Gulf of St. Lawrence. It is separated from New Brunswick on its southern side by Chaleur Bay and the Restigouche River.

The park contains the highest peak of the Appalachian Mountains in Canada, Mont Jacques-Cartier, 1,270 metres (4,170 ft) above sea level.
Bonaventure (French pronunciation: [bɔnavɑ̃tyʁ]) is a town on the Gaspé Peninsula in the Bonaventure Regional County Municipality of Quebec. It is located on Chaleur Bay near the mouth of the Bonaventure River. The town is situated on Route 132 between Saint-Siméon and New Carlisle.
