The 2024 Memorial Cup (branded as the 2024 Memorial Cup presented by Dow for sponsorship reasons) was a four-team round-robin format ice hockey tournament held at Dow Event Center in Saginaw, Michigan, United States. It was the 104th Memorial Cup championship which determined the champion of the Canadian Hockey League (CHL).
Other tournament participants included the Owen Sound Attack from the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), the Saint John Sea Dogs from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) and the Kootenay Ice from the Western Hockey League (WHL). The Majors won the right to host the event over the Barrie Colts, Kingston Frontenacs and Windsor Spitfires. [1]

The Owen Sound Greys were a series of junior ice hockey teams based in Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada. They played in the Mid-Western division of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League . The original Greys, in their early years, won the 1924 and 1927 Memorial Cups as Dominion Junior Hockey Champions.
Defeated Owen Sound Attack 4 games to 3 in conference semi-finals. Defeated Kitchener Rangers 4 games to 3 in conference finals. Lost to Hamilton Bulldogs 4 games to 2 in finals. 2018-19 Defeated Owen Sound Attack 4 games to 1 in conference quarter-finals. Lost to Saginaw Spirit 4 games to 2 in conference semi-finals. 2019–20 Out of playoffs.
Saturday's varsity Cutspec tournament games will both be played at 3 p.m. with the championship game at the high school and the consolation at the elementary school. The junior varsity plays earlier.
Neither Burlington or Owen Sound managed to win the Sutherland Cup with their league championship, in fact only Owen Sound even made to the finals where they were swept by the St. Michael's Buzzers of the Metro Junior B Hockey League. During that streak, the Waterloo Siskins won the Sutherland Cup four times.
