Arlen Darryl Ness [1] [2] (July 12, 1939 – March 22, 2019) was an American motorcycle designer and entrepreneur best known for his custom motorcycles.Ness received acclaim for his designs, most of which are noted for their unique body style and paintwork.
Numerous custom parts were fabricated, including a prominent cover plate with 5 stars to symbolize Lance's 5 Tour de France victories, which had to be altered when he won his 6th. The fuel tank uses the shape and design of Lance's riding helmet, and its paint scheme is the yellow and black of the Livestrong Foundation.
Roland Sands (born August 12, 1974) is an American motorcycle racer and designer of custom motorcycles. In his career as a professional motorcycle racer, he won the 1998 AMA 250GP National Champion road racer championship. Sands is also the owner and founder of Roland Sands Design.
