Beloit Memorial supports the state's oldest high school newspaper, the monthly Increscent, founded in 1894. [citation needed] It won first place in General Excellence by the Wisconsin Newspaper Association in 2010 and second place in 2009 and 2011. [4] The Increscent publishes an annual humor issue, called the Uncrescent.
Ice hockey is a popular sport in the state of Wisconsin. In November of 2024, American International announced that it would be reclassifying its ice hockey team as a Division II program for the following year. [1] The Yellow Jackets were a D-II school for most of their teams, however, the school had taken advantage of an NCAA rule that allowed them to promote one sport to a higher tier, similar to the RIT Tigers and Clarkson Golden Knights.
