Formal higher learning in Nepal began with the establishment of Tri-Chandra College in 1918(1975 BS), the first college in the country. Until 1985, Tribhuvan University was the only university in the country. The second university to be founded was Nepal Sanskrit University.
SWOSU at Sayre was founded in 1938 as a Junior College, but in July 1987 by act of the Oklahoma legislature, it was merged with Southwestern Oklahoma State University. It offers open admission to high school graduates. SWOSU at Sayre offers Associate of Science and Associate of Applied Science degrees in both general and specialized areas of study.
Students are also provided with house t-shirt for the ECAs and a sweater for winter. The school provides transportation facilities to students who require bus service to commute to and from the school. The campus was established in 1951 as Nepal National College running from Durbar High School and later from Tri-Chandra College. The campus was renamed and amalgamated into Tribhuvan University in 1973 following a government decision. [3] [4] The campus is named after Prof. Shanker Dev Pant, who initiated to build the infrastructure for the campus.
Geomatics Institute of Technology provides a four-year bachelor's course in Geomatics Engineering and has affiliation for 40 seats per year. [6] [7] [3] The Bachelor of Engineering in Geomatic Engineering at Purbanchal University is a comprehensive four-year program divided into eight semesters. [8]
In 1966, it was renamed the Nepal Engineering Institute, relocating again to Ananda Niketan in Pulchowk, where it extended the overseer program to three years.
