John Bennett Johnston Jr. (born June 10, 1932) is a retired American attorney, politician, and later lobbyist from Louisiana who served in both chambers of the Louisiana State Legislature as member of the Louisiana House of Representatives from 1964 to 1968, a member of the Louisiana State Senate from 1968 to 1972, and a member of the United States Senate from 1972 to 1997.

Crawford died in Los Angeles, California on February 1, 1996 after battling Alzheimer's disease and is buried at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside California. He is the subject of a 2015 biography by Andrew Layton titled Ray Crawford - Speed Merchant. Dick Wallen, a noted auto racing photographer and publisher, also contributed to the book.
