The Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) is an NCAA skiing-only conference. As the NCAA does not have divisions in skiing, it is composed of NCAA Division I, Division II, and Division III schools, as well as one community college. Members are located in Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin. The conference is organized for Nordic skiing only.

The USCSA sponsors alpine, nordic, freestyle skiing, and snowboarding competitions. Most of these programs are not in the NCAA and range in level of competitiveness. Some are sponsored by the school and are varsity programs, while others are club teams.

For the 2017 season, Charleston beach volleyball became a member of the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association. [6] For the 2021 season, they became a member of the ASUN Conference , and moved from there to the Sun Belt Conference for the 2023 season.
SCSU also sponsors a women's Nordic skiing team through membership in the CCSA, as well as men's and women's Division I ice hockey teams that are members of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (men) and Western Collegiate Hockey Association (women).
