    I dunno what exactly happens with larger numbers; you can just start picking up power pairs at semi-random (3^3 + 5 = 2^6; 11^2 + 7 = 2^7; 10^3 + 24 = 2^10; 3^5 + 100 = 7^3...) but I haven't found any number cropping up twice, between different powers at least (square differences can account for just about anything non-prime, and cubes a lot too).
