In 1973, Liekoski replaced Miller as head coach of the Hartwick College men's soccer team. He lasted only two seasons and compiled a 30–9–7 record. [ 2 ] He took the Hawks to the 1974 NCAA Final Four and was inducted into the Hartwick College Athletic Hall of Fame in 1995.
During his four seasons with the Hawks, they went to two NCAA Final Fours. He finished his career with forty-six career goals and earned first team All American recognition in 1985 and 1987. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] Mettrick was inducted into the Hartwick Athletic Hall of Fame on September 20, 1997. [ 3 ]
