Paws made his debut as the official Tigers mascot on May 5, 1995. He first started entertaining Tiger fans at Tiger Stadium , and now continues that trend at Detroit's Comerica Park . Besides cheering along with Detroit fans at Tigers home games, Paws visits schools, malls, and other special events around the greater Detroit area.
A computer-animated revival series produced in Japan, entitled Pingu in the City, ran for two seasons on NHK from 7 October 2017 until 30 March 2019. A third revival series, being animated in stop-motion like the original, is currently under development at Mattel Television and Aardman Animations .

TigerSharks is an American animated children's television series developed by Rankin/Bass and distributed by Lorimar-Telepictures in 1987. The series involved a team of heroes that could transform into amalgams of human and marine animals and resembled the series ThunderCats and SilverHawks, also developed by Rankin/Bass.
