Trinidad is the home rule municipality that is the county seat and the most populous municipality of Las Animas County, Colorado, United States. [7] The population was 8,329 as of the 2020 census. [8] Trinidad lies 21 mi (34 km) north of Raton, New Mexico, and 195 mi (314 km) south of Denver. It is on the historic Santa Fe Trail.

Simpson's Rest is a butte and rock formation which is a landmark overlooking Trinidad, Colorado. [1] [2] It is the burial place of explorer and trader George S. Simpson, and is surmounted by a U.S. flag and "TRINIDAD" in large white letters. [3] It is a tourist attraction, and can be reached by a 10-minute drive from downtown Trinidad.
The Corazon de Trinidad is a historic district in Trinidad, Colorado which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. [1]The district is a 132 acres (53 ha) area roughly bounded by the Purgatoire River on the north and west, Walnut St. on the east, and 3rd, W. 1st and Animas Sts. on the south.
Trinidad's athletic teams are nicknamed the Miners and the school's colors are Carolina blue, navy, and white. Trinidad teams compete in the following sports: football, volleyball, girls' golf, boys' golf, basketball, track, wrestling, baseball, girls' soccer.

Temple Aaron, located at 407 South Maple Street in Trinidad, Colorado. The building is a contributing property in the Corazón de Trinidad historic district in Trinidad, Colorado.
