McHenry Township is located in McHenry County, Illinois. As of the 2010 census, its population was 47,653 and it contained 19,120 housing units. [ 2 ] McHenry Township shares the distinction with Nunda Township as being the two largest townships by land area in McHenry County, at 48.3 square miles (125 km 2 ) each.
McHenry is located 46 miles northwest of Chicago in northeastern Illinois on the Fox River. According to the 2020 census, McHenry has a total area of 14.50 square miles (37.55 km 2) [22] McHenry lies within the Fox River Valley, and its downtown area is situated on that river. "The Heart of the Fox River" is the city's motto.

Cammal is an unincorporated community in McHenry Township, Lycoming County, in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. [1] It lies along Pine Creek in the Pine Creek Gorge, upstream of Waterville, along Pennsylvania Route 414. Mill Run, which flows through the nearby Tiadaghton State Forest, enters Pine Creek at Cammal. [2]
