The Common University Entrance Test (CUET), formerly Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) is a standardised test in India conducted by the National Testing Agency at various levels—CUET (UG), [1] CUET (PG), [2] and CUET (PhD), [3] for admission to undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate programmes in Central Universities and other participating institutes. [13] From 2020, three public engineering universities in Bangladesh, CUET along with KUET and RUET took a combined admission test to select students for all three of them. Around 30,000 students competed in the admission test for 3201 seats in three universities combined.

In 1974, the Kudrat-e-Khuda Commission stated the importance of establishing a public university in Khulna Division in its final report. The government finalized the programme of establishing a university at Khulna on 4 January 1987 and the Khulna University Act was passed in the Bangladesh National Parliament in July 1990. [4]
The university stream includes courses that will prepare students for future studies at university, while the college stream is more applied and less intense, preparing individuals for the future pursuit of a college degree. Universities require these advanced courses for admission, while colleges will admit pupils from either stream.
