Kingston's High School Alumni Association, founded in 1911 soon after statehood, is the oldest active alumni association in the state of Oklahoma. Each year graduates of Kingston High School are given the opportunity to join the association. Through their donations and fund raisers, the Alumni Association helps to send local students to college.
The new council also took on the functions of the abolished Cheshire County Council in the area. Cheshire West and Chester is both a non-metropolitan district and a non-metropolitan county, but there is no separate county council; instead the district council performs both district and county functions, making it a unitary authority. Cheshire County Council was the county council of Cheshire. Founded on 1 April 1889, it was officially dissolved on 31 March 2009, when it and its districts were superseded by two unitary authorities; Cheshire West and Chester and Cheshire East .
The Municipal Buildings are used as one of the meeting places of Cheshire East Council. [17] The council initially established its main offices in Sandbach, but in 2023 announced plans to make Delamere House in Crewe its main office. [18] Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex visited the Municipal Buildings and met with apprentices on 16 April 2013. [19]
