This is a list of historical and modern Karnataka literature, arranged in chronological order of the historical polity or era from which the works originated. Karnataka literature originates from the Karnataka region of South India, which roughly corresponds to the modern state of Karnataka.
She is an Indian feminist writer and well-known writer of modern Kannada language fiction. Vaidehi is one of the most successful women writers in the language and a recipient of prestigious national and state-level literary awards. [2] She has won the Sahitya Akademi Award for her collection of short stories, Krauncha Pakshigalu in 2009. [3]
Her first poetry collection, Shakuntalopakhyana was published in 1988. Some of her selected poems have been printed in English, Bengali, Gujarati, Malayalam, Telugu and Marathi languages [vague], and in 2005, some were set to music by a Kannada composer C. Ashwath. She has translated books from other languages into Kannada.
The award is named after Attimabbe, a renowned woman of ancient Karnataka, lived in 950 AD who was parental figure to many Kannada poets including Ranna, Ponna and others. The award comprises a cash prize of ₹ 5 lakh (US$5,800), a plaque, shawl and garland. [ 1 ]
Mamta Sagar is an Indian poet, academic, and activist writing in the Kannada language. [1] Her writings focus on identity politics, feminism, and issues around linguistic and cultural diversity. She is a professor of academic and creative writing at Srishti Institute of Art Design and Technology . [ 2 ]
