For Display issues one fix that is working is to Roll back or Uninstall the Driver on the Display Device > Driver tab, restart PC to reinstall driver. You can also try older drivers in Device Manager > Display device > Driver tab > Update Driver > Browse > Let Me Pick.
Undock your Surface from the Surface Dock or disconnect the monitor from your Surface. Download the Surface Dock registry file. Choose to Open the file. This file will clear your cache, whether you have a dock or not. Select Yes to allow changes to your Surface, select Yes to confirm, and then select OK to close.
In settings, monitor type is Generic PnP for both monitors with 60 Hz screen refresh rate (only option). Resolution on both external monitors is 1680 x 1050 (recommended). If the surface screen is on, it is set at 2160 x 1440 (recommended). Surface is set to display 1. Monitor 3 is set to main display.

Hi - I have 2 external monitors. Surface Dock 2 - 2nd monitor is a major problem - display is on for say 15 seconds then goes black for 3 secs. Repeats over and over. Not a connector issue - as when I plug same monitor directly to laptop (Surface Book 2 or Surface book 7) the issue goes away..

Product: HP ZBook Power 15.6 inch G10 A Mobile Workstation PC (7E6L1AV) Hello, my problem is that when my laptop (HP Zbook Power G10 A) is connected to my HP Thunderbolt Dock 120W G4, and I power it on, the external monitor (Samsung C49HG90DM) after a while starts to flicker, and then this happens every 2 minutes.
When I restart the Surface with the external monitor already attached everything works fine. Disconnecting the Surface then and reconnecting - same problem. The flickering appears with different monitors, different cables and with different connectors (Surface Dock or USB-C). I have the 16 GB, i7 Version of the Surface 7 with an up to date OS.
Surface Book 2: External Monitor Flickering. I bought a Surface Book 2 last month. Yesterday, I started using it with an external monitor (connected to the SB through a HDMI to USB-C adapter).
