Minot Carnegie Library on 2nd Ave., SE, in Downtown Minot, North Dakota. [2] It was built in 1911 and was designed by Minot architects Woodruff & McGulpin in Classical Revival style. It has also been known as Free Public Library, Carnegie Library and Minot Public Library. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. [1]
The new library was dedicated on February 19, 1912. The librarian Margaret Greene reported that 221 books were checked out on that day. On November 1, 1913, the North Dakota Library Association held a meeting at the new public library in Minot, which Governor L.B. Hanna and future governor Ragnvald A. Nestos attended. [5]
