Torch Trinity Graduate University was established in 1997 through the partnership of the Korean Center for World Missions (Seoul, South Korea) and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School(Deerfield, IL). Torch Trinity first opened its doors in 1998 with the purpose of educating, equipping, and sending Christian leaders and missionaries worldwide.
The Presbyterian University and Theological Seminary is home to three different educational entities: the undergraduate college, the seminary, and the graduate school. The school traces its roots to an evangelical conference in Singapore in 1968. The campus was opened in Seoul's Seodaemun-gu on May 1, 1974, with six students. At that time it existed only as the Asia Center for Theological Studies and Mission; it received permission to form an educational corporation in 1981, at which time the formal entity of Asia United Theological College was established.
