The John Geist and Sons Blacksmith Shop and House is a building located in Nashville, Tennessee. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places listings in Davidson County, Tennessee (NRHP) in 1980. The business finally closed in 2006. In 2018 the building and site were developed and a restaurant opened in the blacksmith building.

East Nashville was hit in a two-day tornado outbreak on April 15 and April 16, 1998. On April 16, a tornado touched down in East Nashville while cutting a swath through the greater Nashville area. At least 300 homes were damaged in East Nashville; many of which lost a good part of their roofs, and a few were destroyed.
Access was further facilitated by the construction of the Shelby Street Bridge in 1909. Lockeland Springs was annexed to the City of Nashville in 1905. The Louisville and Nashville Depot, located at 101 East Railroad Street in Nashville, Illinois, is the city's former Louisville and Nashville Railroad station. The station was built in 1885 as part of the L&N's expansion through Southern Illinois in the 1880s.
The original Harveys department store was opened by Fred Harvey in 1942 at the corner of 6th Avenue North and Church Street in Nashville, Tennessee. The site was the former home of a post-Reconstruction Nashville retailer, Lebeck Brothers/Denton & Company, which rose to prominence in the 1870s.
