Christopher Nichols said: I'm new to wood working entirely and currently have not done much that requires ripping boards. Saving up for a good table saw but ran across a Performax 10" table saw on the FB Marketplace with stand for $50. Doesn't appear to have any safety features around the blade which concerns me as I have a 13 year old who is ...
Next the sector gear should mesh with the teeth on the shaft and rotate as the shaft is turned, raising and lowering the carriage. If the two are meshing properly the carriage will raise/lower. A build up of crud in the shaft and in the sector teeth will cause the two not to mesh if they are worn. If the shaft won't turn then crud could be the ...
The overall size of the saw is OK with the exception of the max thickness. I don't need to do any re-sawing so a huge 14" or larger floor model isn't really needed. Most of what I cut is 4/4 or less but I would like to try some band saw boxes in the future. I'm thinking in the price range of $200-300.

Hey guys, i'm a new guy around here. I'm looking to buy a miter saw. I was considering a Makita or Dewalt 10" and then noticed a Performax 10" slider at Menards. i fully realize you guys have higher standards than a saw from Menards, but here's my thought. The saw is on sale a lot for around $170- about the same as a Makita or Dewalt non-slider ...
7 posts · Joined 2022. #1 · Jan 8, 2024 (Edited) I bought a Performax 16-32 Drum Sander Friday. The person I bought it from let me test it extensively before purchase, had no problems running the boards through and they smoothed out just fine. I got it home, changed out the roll to a fresh one, ran a board through just to make sure the roll ...
Hello, I'm a novice/hobbyist woodworker, who just purchased a Performax 10" table saw and was wondering if I could put dado blades on it. If so, what type/brand should I purchase. If so, what type/brand should I purchase.
Local Market Place has a Performax 16-32 Plus listed for $250. Got back into woodworking last year and have been building out my workshop. A drum sander is on my list of tools I would like to own, I already have a Jointer and a Planner for milling up my own lumber. And a Drum sander would be nice to even out cutting boards after a glue up.
Table saws can batch out parts 10x faster than a track saw. They can make much cleaner crosscuts. They can cut joinery. They can cut coves. They can take dado stacks. They can cut much smaller pieces than a track saw. There is a way to use the track saw using an MFT which can mitigate most of these issues.
I've used multiple bases, and move the feeder from the shaper to the table saw when needed. I set mine in front of the blade, with a very sight cant to the right towards the fence. The fence should be locking down well, as the feeder can exert some pressure against it. The arm goes over the fence and the base is mounted to the right of the ...
