Set your scratch disk in prefs to another drive with 10x the space of the files you plan to deliver. That will allow you to deliver your work on time.
You can also resolve a 'scratch disk full' condition by selecting additional drives for use as scratch disks. Hold down the Cmd + Option keys (macOS) or Ctrl + Alt keys (Windows) during app launch and set a new scratch disk for your system under the Scratch Disk Preferences dialog that opens. The scratch file is deleted when Photoshop closes. You do need to make sure there is plenty of free space on the disk you specify, 5GB is not enough. Here, Photoshop uses more than 5GB scratch space just to open and can easily run up to 100GB when processing large files.
Note: If Photoshop cannot launch because the scratch disk is full, hold down the Cmd + Opt keys (Mac) or Ctrl + Alt keys (Windows) on launch to set a new scratch disk. I was able to reset the scratch disk and so far Photoshop is launching fine. Hope this helps someone!
The scratch file is a temporary file in the root folder of whatever disk you set in Preferences. It is created when Photoshop opens and is deleted on closure. It starts at around 5GB and can grow in use to many GB, so it advisable to have at least 100GB free on the disk you choose for scratch. Dave.
