Posted on Feb 27, 2021 2:42 PM. Hello NupeKubiak, It sounds as though you're seeing 'E' next to the signal bars on your iPhone X, and seeking to remove that icon. The E indicates that you're iPhone is connected to the Edge or 2G network. That will change depending on the type of cellular data or Wi-Fi connection your iPhone is connected to.
On both iPhones in the house, the wifi will be on, it will have a check mark next to the right wifi, but the symbol for wifi does not appear- says LTE. I am connected to wifi on an iPad and a Mac, so I know wifi is working. I have reset router/modem and WAP and restarted the phone and it works sometime, but then goes back to this mode where it ...

LTE Doesn’t Come Up Automatically I have an iPhone XR 13.3.1. When I am away from my WiFi range, such as outside my house, the LTE won’t come up automatically. I have to shutdown and restart my phone for LTE to come up. It is getting tiring. My phone carrier is Virgin but their phone support isn’t helping. Please help.
Before that was 3G. Way in the beginning is 1X on the Verizon network, for example. The 1X means you can't get a better signal for the 3G and LTE networks. 1X may give you voice service if your phone is capable of getting enough of a signal. It's usually good only for a very short text SMS.
Take care! Hi there chip270, For your iPhone 14 Plus only showing LTE, you'll want to ensure that you have the proper settings enabled in Settings > Cellular or Mobile > Cellular (or Mobile) Data Options. If those settings are set to LTE, then that is all you'll see in available areas, which is why it's important to ensure those are set properly.
Verizon has turned off LTE calls on your account. Once I click "OK" to remove the pop-up, my phone seems to work just fine. It seems to only happen when I don't have reception. I happen to live where there is no cell reception and rely on my WiFi for calls and texting. Because I am regularly without reception, I get this pop-up constantly.
Check the running apps. That red or orange dot is expected whenever using the telephone or FaceTime or any other microphone-using app, for instance. If there's no app (that should be) using the microphone, and Control Center doesn't show an app using the microphone, try restarting the iPhone. (1) askbarnabas. Level 10.
Make phone calls with Voice over LTE (VoLTE) - Apple Support. LTE is "long term evolution" which is the pathway to 4G, so it is 4G. VoLTE is just a higher standard of phone calls which gives you the better option to use data at the same time you are on a call..such as using maps, browser, etc. No-one is listening to you and you are most likely ...
Feb 25, 2015. #6. According to Apple (at least on the iPhone 5) the device will chose the faster connection. So, if your Wifi connection isn't as fast as your LTE, the device will show and use LTE instead of your Wifi (even though you are connected). If this is the case (that your LTE is faster than your Wifi) I would look into what is going on ...
