As the battle on Namek continues, Kami and Mr. Popo have found all of the restored Dragon Balls, giving King Kai an idea that might save everyone on Namek, bring back all of the fallen Namekians back to life, including Guru. Back on Namek, it turns out that Goku still isn't using his full power yet, and he regains the edge over Frieza.
Goku defeats Freeza and tries to escape Namek just as it explodes. Bulma and her friends try to revive him on Earth with Porunga, but they discover that Goku has got survived, training on another planet. Using Porunga, Yamcha, Tenshinhan, Kuririn and Chaozu are revived, while the Namekians depart to live on another planet.
The Namekian people, now living on a new planet after their home world was destroyed by Frieza years prior, find New Namek under siege by a mysterious, sentient spaceship that has latched onto and began attacking their home. Dende, now the Earth's guardian, senses the plight of his people and telepathically calls on Goku for help.
The series serves as a sequel to the prior Dragon Ball anime and manga, which primarily focused on Goku's childhood experiences. It has been speculated that creator Akira Toriyama did not originally intend for the series to stretch past the Saiyan Saga when he began working on the Dragon Ball Z portion of the manga.
At Vegeta's request, Goku explains to the others that he managed to survive Planet Namek's destruction by escaping in one of the Ginyu Force's space pods just seconds before Namek exploded. He further explains that he eventually landed on a planet called Yardrat and was nursed back to health by the friendly inhabitants of the planet.

Back on Namek, as Krillin and Dende head towards the Eldest Namek, Zarbon, one of Frieza's high-level henchmen, finds Vegeta, and intends to destroy him. Piccolo (Japanese: ピッコロ, Hepburn: Pikkoro) is a fictional character in the Japanese Dragon Ball media franchise created by Akira Toriyama.He made his appearance in chapter #161 "Son Goku Wins!!", published in Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine on February 9, 1988, [2] as the reincarnation of the evil King Piccolo, who was positioned as a demonic antagonist of the series.
