Pre-medical (often referred to as pre-med) is an educational track that undergraduate students mostly in the United States pursue prior to becoming medical students. It involves activities that prepare a student for medical school , such as pre-med coursework, volunteer activities, clinical experience, research, and the application process.
Students from American and foreign universities often enroll in the school to study for seven weeks with Harvard faculty as well as visiting scholars from other institutions. The Summer School does not offer any degrees but grants academic credits. The Summer School offers more than 300 daytime and evening classes in over 60 disciplines. [1]
In the U.S., a medical school is an institution with the purpose of educating medical students in the field of medicine. [7] Most medical schools require students to have already completed an undergraduate degree, although CUNY School of Medicine in New York is one of the few in the U.S. that integrates pre-med with medical school.
The college sponsors approximately 50 student clubs and organizations, most of which are managed by the Office of Student Activities and Multicultural Programs. Academic clubs include Art, Art Therapy, Art History, Biology, Chemistry, Education, Business Organization, Political Forum, Philosophy, Pre-Med (36 Hours), Psychology and Sociology. [31]
The intent of the clinical clerkship is to teach the medical student the fundamentals of clinical examination, evaluation, and care provision, and to enable the student to select the course of further study. Another purpose of the clerkship is for the student to determine if they really want to pursue a career in the field of medicine. [6]

Yager Hall, the college library. Hartwick College offers 45 courses of study leading to a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree. [8] Additionally, it offers 11 minors; pre-professional programs in law, medicine, engineering and allied health professions; and five cooperative programs in engineering, law, business, and physical and occupational therapy.
