Peavy Pond is a 2,400 acres (970 ha) reservoir in Iron County, Michigan. [2] The reservoir was created by the Peavy Falls Dam. [3] Peavy Pond is part of the Menominee Drainage Basin. It flows from the dam, through the Michigamme River and the Menominee River into Lake Michigan.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has an area of 1,211 square miles (3,140 km 2), of which 1,166 square miles (3,020 km 2) is land and 45 square miles (120 km 2) (3.7%) is water. [7] Along with its southeastern neighbor Dickinson County , it is one of only two landlocked counties in the Upper Peninsula .
