Green was born in Chicago where he worked as a union organizer for the Painters Union. [1] He moved to Phillipsburg, New Jersey where he owned a plastic pressing plant. [ 2 ] During World War II , his factory switched from producing toilet seat covers to producing plastic records - which had previously been made from shellac. [ 2 ]

Alexander N. Green [1] (born September 1, 1947) is an American lawyer and politician serving as the U.S. representative from Texas's 9th congressional district since 2005. A member of the Democratic Party, Green served as the justice of the peace of Harris County, Texas from 1977 to 2004.
