The Red River Revel (colloquially referred as The Revel by locals) is an annual festival in Shreveport, Louisiana, that occurs every October. [1] The Revel began in 1976 as a bicentennial celebration sponsored by the Junior League of Shreveport. It is a nonprofit festival; any money garnered from sales finances the Revel for next year.
The Louisiana Holiday Trail of Lights is eight cities in north Louisiana (Shreveport, Bossier City, Minden, Monroe, West Monroe, Natchitoches and Alexandria, Pineville) [1] that collectively offer festivals, parades, fireworks shows, shopping and dining in each of the cities starting the day after Thanksgiving through the New Year.
The festival is a nonprofit event meant to contribute to the ongoing growth of the neighborhood in which its held. There is no admission charge.
