The Tunku Abdul Rahman Foundation (Malay: Yayasan Tunku Abdul Rahman) is a non-profit public foundation incorporated by an Act of Parliament in 1966. The primary aim of the foundation is to recognise and encourage the development of youths who show excellence in both academic and extra-curricular pursuits through the provision of scholarships for higher education.
National Higher Education Fund Corporation (Malay: Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional), abbreviated PTPTN, is an authority responsible for giving study loans to students pursuing tertiary education in Malaysia. This agency is under Ministry of Higher Education.
It has Merit Scholarship granting scholarships ranging from 15% to 100% of the tuition fee. Scholarships are granted (subject to approval) based on academic results. For instance, students achieving 3 A− in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or IGCSE would be able to enjoy a 15% Merit Scholarship for the CAT programme.
The program is also offered to SPM school leavers who scored well in the national examination. It is a fast-track one-year program aimed at preparing students for campus learning. The program is STEM-based and offers courses like physics, Chemistry, Biology, Statistics, Calculus, Algebra, Language Appreciation, Research, and Self-Development.
