The Canon EOS M50, called Canon EOS Kiss M in Japan, is a digital mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera announced by Canon on February 25, 2018 [1] and sale began on March 23, 2018. [2] [3] As with all of the Canon EOS M series cameras, the M50 uses the Canon EF-M lens mount. An adapter is available for use with Canon EF lenses.
Suitable adapters (from EF to M or from EF-S to M) are made by Canon as well as third party manufacturers. As is common with mirrorless systems, the adapter solution is not backwards-compatible with Canon's DSLR cameras: this means that you cannot put M lenses on a non-M DSLR. [1] The EOS EF-M system was discontinued in October 2023. [2]

The T-mount is a standard lens mount for cameras and other optical assemblies. The usual T-mount is a screw mount using a male 42×0.75 (42 mm diameter, 0.75 mm thread pitch) metric thread on the lens with a flange focal distance of 55 mm and a mating female 42mm thread on a camera adapter or other optical component.
Canon full-frame cameras have used the EF lens mount since 1987. In comparison with that mount, the RF mount's inner diameter is the same at 54 mm. [1] The RF mount's flange focal distance at 20 mm is much shorter than that of the Canon EF and EF-S mounts at 44 mm.

The pricing of a DOF adapter unit also depends on the material and technologies used. For instance, a relay lens system must be added if the adapter is to be directly mounted to a camera's body (bypassing the standard lens, as if on a Canon XL1 or XL2 and the Sony EX3). Also, a prism system that is used on some adapters that correctly reorients ...
