Donald Joel Aronow (March 3, 1927 – February 3, 1987) was an American designer, builder, and racer of Formula, Donzi, Magnum Marine, Cary, and Cigarette Racing Team speedboats. Aronow built speedboats for the Shah of Iran , Charles Keating , Robert Vesco , Malcolm Forbes , George H. W. Bush , and Lyndon B. Johnson .
Magnum Marine in Miami, Florida, was founded in 1966, when Donald Aronow built two hulls specifically for the offshore powerboat racing circuit. These two designs, with which he launched Magnum Marine, were the Magnum 27’ and the Magnum 35’; both went on to become World Offshore Champions in Open Class racing.
In 2006, the Formula 240 Bowrider won Powerboat Magazine's "Boat of the Year." Formula Boats are also renowned for their racing history. In 1985, Scott Porter raced the 302 SR-1 "Secret Formula" to win the Southeast Divisional Championship. Boats from the Formula catalog won the World Championships for the American Power Boat Association in 2003.
