The Bhadla Solar Park is a solar power plant located in the Thar Desert of Rajasthan, India. It covers an area of 56 square kilometers and has a total installed capacity of 2,245 megawatts (MW), making it India's largest and the 11th-largest solar park in the world as of 2024. [ 4 ]
The 260 MW solar power plant is built by the National Thermal Power Corporation at the Bhadla Solar Park, under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy's Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) Scheme Phase II. As of April 2021, it is the world's third largest photovoltaic solar park after the 2,245 MW Bhadla Solar Park in Rajasthan and 2,200 MW Huanghe Hydropower Hainan Solar Park in China. It is the second largest in India.The total project cost was ₹14,800 crore (US$2.1 billion). [5]
