In June 2021, Ghanaian businessman Ibrahim Mahama's company Dzata Cement started commercial production after the completion of phase one of the Dzata Cement plant. [4] The company is the first wholly Ghanaian owned cement company. The first phase of the company was projected to make an annual production of 1.2 million tonnes.
