Kleberg County is a county in the U.S. state of Texas.As of the 2020 census, its population was 31,040. [1] The county seat is Kingsville. [2] The county was organized in 1913 [3] and is named for Robert J. Kleberg, an early settler.
The Kingsville Micropolitan Statistical Area is a micropolitan area in South Texas that covers one sole county–Kleberg. The micropolitan statistical area also included Kenedy County which was detached in 2023. [1] It is also part of the larger Corpus Christi–Kingsville–Alice Combined Statistical Area.

The first recorded inhabitants of the area were the Coahuiltecan Malaquites, surviving on seafood from nearby Baffin Bay, with settlements along the Santa Getrudis and San Fernando creeks, and the Cayo del Grullo branch of Baffin Bay. [7]
The statistical area consists of the Corpus Christi Metropolitan Statistical Area, the Kingsville Micropolitan Statistical Area, and the Alice Micropolitan Statistical Area. As of the 2010 census , the CSA had a population of 501,500 (though a July 1, 2013 estimate placed the population at 516,793).
