The following is a list of people executed by the U.S. state of Delaware since capital punishment was resumed in the United States in 1976. All of the 16 people were convicted of murder and have been executed at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center, near Smyrna, Delaware. Newark Union Church and Cemetery is a historic meetinghouse and burial ground in Brandywine Hundred, Delaware near Carrcroft. [1] Established in 1687, the cemetery is four acres in size and contains approximately 950 graves, including seven men who fought in the American Revolution and members of some the earliest settlers of the Brandywine Hundred.
