Mount Pleasant Historic District (also known as Old Village Historic District [2]) is a national historic district located at Mount Pleasant, Charleston County, South Carolina. The district encompasses nine contributing buildings in the town of Mount Pleasant. The dwellings reflect Mount Pleasant's historic role as a summer resort town.

Mount Pleasant is a large suburban town in Charleston County, South Carolina, United States. In the Lowcountry , it is the fourth-most populous municipality in South Carolina, and for several years was one of the state's fastest-growing areas, doubling in population between 1990 and 2000 .
In January 2006, the 124 inpatient bed Prisma Health Heart Hospital, located on the Richland campus, opened its doors. The $80 million, 200,000-square-foot (19,000 m 2) hospital is the state's only freestanding facility specializing only in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
