These stones block the urine flow, making it painful or impossible for your goat to eliminate waste from its body.
I knew that urinary calculi was an issue for male goats, but i had no idea that alfalfa hay was so deadly. This lady also indicated that any amount of grain could be detrimental to a male goat's health, for the same reason. Pan eats so little grain I feel safe giving it to him.

What I personally have learned is that Alfalfa, although imbalanced at 4 to 1 calcium / phosphorous, is actually good / ok for wethers. Especially younger growing ones.
If AC is needed for a treatment: Drench 20cc of water with 1 (one) teaspoon per 75 lbs of AC every 12 hours for 2 (two) days. The 1/2 teaspoon per 75 lbs of AC every 12 hours for 3 (three) days then 1/4 teaspoon of AC daily as a preventative. Fruit fresh can also be used as an emergency alternative to AC.
