All lithium ion batteries are subject to this phenomenon and it is not a fire hazard but can result in damage to the laptop casing. You do need to replace the battery. I just had this same thing happen on my own HP laptop past warranty and it is just expected maintenance.

Plus i can't manually check the battery because CT number which is printed on the battery, was partially sealed by "very smart" seller with his own warranty badge. The only part of the number i can see is "CT:6BCM..." HP support assistant was unable to detect CT battery number and displays CT Number: N/A.
