Maydell stood for the European Parliament and became one of Bulgaria's seventeen MEPs on 1 July 2014. [1] At the time, she was the youngest member of the EPP Group. [2] In her first term from 2014 until 2019, she served on the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO) and the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON).
